SUN CITY WEST, ASSISTED LIVING & MEMORY CARE

My dad was living in independent living but circumstances changed and he needed full time care. This place seemed so nice while we were touring the place and talking to the staff...by the way, the staff was not visible once he moved in and got settled...after they got our signature and money. My dad was wheelchair bound so we kept getting our rates raised until we were way over what he could really afford. Then he had to go in to rehab twice for 40 days during the 60 days he paid for. Still had to pay an enormous amount of money for what little time he was there...they gave him a penant to push if he needed help..it was broken and taped. We asked for another one but that never happened. Nobody came when he called..it would take quite a while for anyone to get to him. When we would complain, we were treated like it was not a big deal...His room was messed up most of the time. I placed photos on Yelp of how they didnt clean his room very often. Still had no one to complain to because the executive director was always in a meeting...all day, every day. His last days on this earth were of him either sitting in his wheelchair, (he had a nice recliner in the room but that was too much trouble to put him in) or laying in bed ringing his penant and nobody coming for way too long. He told us he was afraid to say anything to anyone for fear of retaliation from them. So he would never complain. All in all, I cant say enough bad about this place. NEVER leave a loved one in the care of Sun City West Assisted Living. You dont know what is and isnt happening when you are not there... not good care for the one you thought you were caring for by placing them in such a "nice place"!

If I could give zero stars I would. My step father had been living here now for more than a year. The staff and level of care in this facility is atrocious. He has a call button to summon help when needed. He had been pushing the call button for a few hours and no one came. He was unable to move out of his chair and was having a hard time breathing. My mother called him to see how he was as they usually talk a few times a day, and he told her what was happening. She called to the facility a few times and left voice-mails and no one responded. When she arrived she found him still in his chair, she yelled for the nurse and the nurses response was I'm only one person. Meanwhile, two other workers were standing in the lobby chatting on their cell phone. 911 was called and he was hospitalized due to health issues he was having. Oxygen levels were down to 80%. Dogs get better treatment at the humain society. Stay away from this place.

The Pegasus Sun City West Assisted Living facility has deteriorated significantly over the last two years.The staff is all new and continues to turn over monthly. The staff used to treat residents like family. However the hiring practices have changed snd it appears the staff hired are more interested in a paycheck than actually caring for residents. A little paint and the change of furniture is just dressing on a facility that is going downhill quicker each day. I would be surprised if the facility lasts.

My Aunt Vicky lived at Pegasus Sun City West Assisted Living and Memory Care for more than a decade and just recently passed away at 96. She had exceptional care for this whole period from an excellent and loving staff, and she was very happy there for the entire period. We are very grateful for the wonderful care she had.

I had to make some very quick decisions for my Dad's well being and was referred to Brookdale SandRidge in Sun CIty West, AZ. I was impressed by the clean facility, how supportive and friendly the staff is and the amazing selection of food- 3 meals a day served with options, menu style from the main entree to the vegetables and home made soup. I'm a believer in good nutrition and a caring team that engages their residents. I was relieved and impressed at the level of comfort, support and details handled in a friendly manner-including the 24 hour nurse on staff. Taking advantage of the respite stay gives a good option for trial. The best part is, my Dad is happy, pleased with the food, has a clean apartment with a great view and he is meeting people to connect with. Many of the key people have been there over 15 years and that says a lot! I'm over the moon with this solution and feel like a heavy weight has been lifted for my Dad and I. Thank you! Karen
