DESERT WINDS ASSISTED LIVING

After spending almost 2 years mostly alone in my home due to medical problems that required surgery and COVID lockdowns, I sold my home and moved into Desert Winds in August of 2022. I was tired of being lonely and wanted to be around other people. The staff here is very friendly. They are always willing to stop what they are doing and listen to whatever little thing is on my mind at the time, and lend a hand if needs be. Blake, and Dan, and Austin ( the maintenance guys) have been especially kind to me. They helped me hang my prized painting of Paris on the wall in my apartment, and put together my cat "tree" when I moved in. It made me and my kitties feel right at home. They also frequently carry heavy things like cases of water and groceries from my car and put it where I want it in my apartment. I don't know what I would do without them. Kara, the new leasing agent, is Desert Wind's secret weapon! She is a dynamo, always smiling and willing to talk to the residents as she moves through the building accomplishing her "regular" tasks. She has a genuine desire to help make Desert Winds a better place to live! She also listens to the people she takes on tours and finds out what things they like about Desert Winds, and what things they would like to here that are not offered yet. The biggest thing that I would like to see improved here is: Offering some healthier options for meat and more veggies to eat in the dining room. I feel that this is not an unreasonable request because the demographic that this facility serves, needs to eat healthier if they desire to live longer (me included). I am happy here, but I am excited to consider that things might become even better in the future!

My mother moved in in March and was anxious about her decision. She has since made a great group of friends, has a standing dinner date, has a busy social calendar of events that she looks forward to, and has improved immensely both physically and emotionally. They just arranged an amazing holiday party and took the residents on a tour to see the Christmas lights. That is just one example of many. It has taken so much pressure off of me, as her daughter.

I live at Desert Winds Independent Living and I love it! The staff is wonderful and my apartment is very large and comfortable. I encourage everyone that is looking for senior living to choose Desert Winds Independent Living!

I enjoy my apartment at Desert Winds Independent Living, I have lived here for over 5 years. I enjoy the staff, and residents. They have a lot of activities that I enjoy.

My father became a new resident recently and I can’t imagine a better place! The move in process was seemingly flawless I was able to complete most of it from home while working directly with Jim! The director Nora goes above and beyond to ensure your questions are answered in detail! My father says the care staff is friendly and supportive. The facility has many opportunities for your love ones to become involved in daily. Definitely one to check out if you are looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one!
