THE OAKS

I can’t say enough about the quality care my mom receives in the memory care unit. The residents are always happy to spend time with each other. The staff always makes everything about the residents. Today at dinner we had a vibrant conversation about where everyone came from and their favorite food. There was Spain, Ecuador, and different areas of the US. 2 of the staff told us all about Africa and the wonderful foods there. Dinner sometimes takes 2 hours. They talk so much having a nice time. Soo great to see how well my mom likes being here. I owe a big thanks to Kevin who educated and held our hand to the world of Memory Care. To Pauline who not only greets you but listens to your concerns and always helps you to have a voice. And Amy. Who follows up until you are satisfied!! And with my family members that’s not always easy. I could go on and on, but you just wanted to know about today. It was a Great Day.

My mom has been living at The Oaks for a year now and has had kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable care...and great soup. 🤣 The head chef and kitchen staff really do a wonderful job with meals 12 hours a day and lots of specialty parties and events. The front desk staff folks are great. They answer countless questions from residents and family members with patience all day long. The Activity Director works 8 days a week, I think, and is always open to suggestions from residents and then facilitating their ideas. I could keep going with the building maintenance staff, housekeeping, the salon in the building, all parts of the business staff that help figure out long-term care insurance and much more. After visiting elderly friends in several places and taking tours at another dozen, I feel we found the best place for Mom.

From the minute we walked into The Oaks it felt like the right place for my 93 year old Mom-in-law. Kevin Pugh was the family advisor & it felt like we’d known him forever. We didn’t feel any pressure at all to hurry up & decide if we wanted to place her there, unlike some other facilities we had toured. Everyone was really kind & friendly. I was especially impressed that those who worked there greeted the residents that were hanging around the common areas by name. We are placing my Mom-in-law here & feel it will be the perfect fit for her. Kevin made the whole process effortless.

We looked at nearly every assisted living place in Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa for Mom and The Oaks is absolutely the best overall place we were able to find. The staff are so nice and caring, the rooms very nice and the services, activities and food is first rate. Everyone we spoke to and dealt with is understanding, accommodating and makes you feel like your issue or question is the most important thing to for them to resolve. It is so difficult to go through this process with a parent but Kevin and the team at The Oaks make the process understandable, compassionate, efficient and caring.

My mom is happy with The Oaks. Her only complaint is that the food is warm when it should be hot. My only complaint is that after the main entrance is locked at night it can sometimes take 10 or more minutes for someone to unlock the doors. Residents should have a passkey to get in. Otherwise, the Oaks is a very nice community and the staff are all very polite and attentive to resident needs.
