ALTC’s is a Medicaid based program that helps those who need care and have exhausted their resources. Once approved for ALTC’s the applicants cost of care is covered whether that care be in an assisted living facility or be in the form of private duty caregivers coming to the home.
As a Medicaid based program ALTC’s is need based. In our resources section we have more information about applying for this program. Below is a brief summary of the qualifications for the program.
INCOME AND RESOURCE LIMITS
- Monthly GROSS income for applicant……….$2,313
- Monthly GROSS income for married applicant- both incomes combined……….$4626
- Resources for individual………. $2,000
In addition to qualifying for financial need, medical need must also be demonstrated. A functional and medical assessment is performed to demonstrate that the applicant is truly in need of long-term care. To qualify medically, the applicant must score 60 points or higher on this assessment.
